GAMING MOUSE REVIEW

Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT Review: Is It Still Worth It?

The original PRO X SUPERLIGHT remains an exceptionally light, simple wireless gaming mouse with a proven shape, responsive LIGHTSPEED connection, and accurate HERO 25K tracking. The question is whether its core performance still justifies the price beside newer alternatives.

Quick verdict: It is still a strong choice for competitive players who value low weight, dependable wireless performance, and a clean no-RGB design. Buyers who want USB-C charging, very high polling rates, or more buttons should consider a newer model.

Lightweight Shape and Competitive Control

The restrained shape and low weight suit fast competitive movement without forcing an aggressive ergonomic angle.

At less than 63 grams, the PRO X SUPERLIGHT feels significantly easier to reposition than a conventional productivity mouse. The shell is simple and broadly adaptable, although comfort still depends on hand size and grip style. Its left-side buttons favor right-handed users, while the overall body remains visually symmetrical.

The HERO 25K sensor is more important than the headline DPI number. Its real benefit is predictable tracking with no obvious need for acceleration or smoothing. Combined with LIGHTSPEED wireless, the mouse is designed to keep the cable out of the way without making responsiveness feel like a compromise.

Smooth Glide, Minimal Extras

Large PTFE contact areas help the mouse move smoothly across a suitable cloth or hard gaming surface.

The large PTFE feet support quick, controlled gliding, particularly on a clean gaming mousepad. Logitech removed unnecessary visual features and weight, so there is no RGB showpiece and no large bank of extra buttons. That focus is excellent for FPS gaming, but less useful for MMO players or productivity users who want many shortcuts.

What we like

  • Exceptionally light under-63g design
  • Accurate HERO 25K tracking
  • Reliable LIGHTSPEED wireless performance
  • Smooth large PTFE feet
  • Clean design without distracting RGB

What to consider

  • Older charging connection than newer USB-C models
  • Only five main programmable controls
  • No Bluetooth connection
  • Premium price for a first-generation model
  • Newer SUPERLIGHT models offer updated hardware

Easy to Carry, but Built for One Purpose

Ultra-light wireless gaming mouse with laptop, receiver and cable in a travel case
Its low weight and compact receiver make it easy to move between a desktop setup, tournament, office, or travel laptop.

The mouse is portable and uncomplicated: pack the receiver and charging cable, connect it to a PC or Mac, and adjust profiles through G HUB if needed. It is not a multi-device office mouse, and it does not try to be one. Its value comes from doing competitive pointer control very well.

Should You Buy It?

Buy it if you want a proven lightweight FPS mouse, prefer a clean black design, and find it at a meaningful discount below newer models.

Skip it if USB-C charging, ultra-high polling rates, Bluetooth, or a larger set of programmable buttons are important to you.
